Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
I assumed you were using the drop down combo box from the Forms toolbar. Suggest you try the drop down combo box from the Control toolbox toolbar. You will have to make your macro run from the event, but you can set the properties of the dropdown for font size. If you have not used this before learn about design mode.

I figured out that combo box from control toll bar will work, but it is very very slow when choosing a selection in drop down menu as well as when Iam setting up the properties. why is that?
Am I better off using data validation? I.e I can format the cell that the validation is in. and how do I link a macro to run when value of the cell containing data validation is changed.

thanks

If your list is not toooo looong
let's say 30 items max. use data validation.
