Formatting 2500 to 25.00

Hi all - I'm new to this site, nice to meet ya
I have used "#"".""#0" to format 2500 to read 25.00 in the cell, but the formula bar still reads the value as 2500. How can I change that to 25.00?

The formula bar will always show the actual value in the cell, in this case 2500.
