Formatting ARROW in Pivot Tables

I seem to have 'lost' my formatting arrow in Pivot Tables. You know the BOLD arrow that points to the right that allows you to format your row for subtotals etc. Typically if you 'hover' on the utmost left side of the subtotal, you'll get that 'arrow', left click in that cell then it highlights all the columns so you can do a quick format. Additionally, it highlights all the subsequent subtotals that are in the same column.

Any idea on how to get this arrow back? I've already re-loaded excel TWICE on my computer to no avail... :(

I have a couple of HUGE pivot tables due this week with a TON of subtotals - any help you an provide will be greatly appreciated!
