Hello,

I am trying to work out how to change the colour of a cell based on specific textual content.

The 'logic' that I want is:

If cell I1 is equal to "5E" or "5D" or "5C" or "5B" or "5A" then colour cell I1 red

[I have already combined the content of cells E1 and G1 (in the attached image) into cell I1 using =E1&G1]

Though I can express this in words I cannot figure out how to do it in Excel,

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Fred

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().

this would be conditional formatting with the formula
Excel Formula:
=OR($I$1="5E",$I$1="5D",$I$1="5C",$I$1="5B",$I$1="5A")

Excellent, thanks, I tried all sorts of combinations of 'IF's and 'OR's, thanks
