I have a few formatting buttons added to my toolbar. One of them is the Currency button (Currency Style). When I click this, it changes the formating, but not to Currency, it changes it to the Accounting style...

I would assume that the Currency Style Button changes the formatting to Currenccy Style... Why is it changing the number to accounting style. Can I make it so it formats to what I want?

Thanks

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
That gets it to the format I want. However, I want it so that the button I push in the toolbar, the one that says Currency style formats the number so that it is in Currency Style, Not Accounting Style. I don't want to have to CTRL 1 every time I want to format correctly, nor do I wish to use a formula every time to get the correct formatting.

To Change the Currency button you need to change its "Style"

Format / Style

change the style name drop down to currency and then click modify

I have mine set up as follows:

_-"£* #,##0.00_-;-"£"* #,##0.00_-;_-"£"* "-"??_-;_-@_-

Amend the £ to a € as needed.

Ah HA!

So this is the solution.

Format -> Style.

IN this interface select the style name Currency.

Then Click Modify, this brings up the Format Cells Box. The same one you get when you press CTRL 1. It was by default set on Accounting, I simply changed it to Currency.

Thanks SOS and VOG!

Wait... When I do this will it save this style each time I open a new book? Or do I have to change the style every time??
