FORMATTING IN GROUPS

I'M WORKING ON A NEW FORMAT AND NEED TO FIND OUT HOW TO SORT THE 5 LINES THAT REPRESENT ONE CUSTOMER TOGETHER AT THE SAME TIME.

i.e. SALES CATEGORY CODE
CUSTOMER 1 TYPE 1 2
TYPE 2
TYPE 3
TYPE 4
TYPE 5
CUSTOMER 2 TYPE 1
TYPE 2
TYPE 3 4
TYPE 4
TYPE 5
NOW HOW CAN I SORT THE GROUPS BY AN COLUMN I WANT AND STILL KEEP THE CUSTOMER TOGETHER AS A WHOLE?

Hi Kathy:

Welcome to the Board!

For entries to be sorted in the fashion you would like to have, each entry must be unique. One way of doing this would be to include a transient column that combines couple of the customer attributes to make every entry unique -- and then you sort on that column.

Also if you can post some real data that you are working with -- that will help in a better understanding of your situation.

Why don't you simply fill in the Customer designation on the rows where they are missing?
