formatting negative numbers - red and brackets

Hi
I want to format negative numbers as red with brackets and with negative sign or not. I know I can custom format that but I also know I should be able to find that format under Format Cells --> Numbers. But I could not find that option in my Excel (please see screenshot link below). I went to my Windows 10 Settings (see the screenshot#2 link), I see the negative number and I can select the (1.1) but it is still grayed out. How to fix that? Thank you very much.

Hi,

Try the "Currency" format with no $ sign (choose "none" for symbol)

Thank you for your reply. Currency does not have ( ) for negative numbers as well. Please see below. I just tried it on other computer win7 and I have under negative numbers the ( ) format but not this win10 computer. Thank you very much

Mine does. May be it's a regional thing, don't know, and I'm on Win 10, Excel 2016

Thank you very much. The link helped. I found that I need to change the number and currency both to ( ) for negative them excel will have that option. great help .. thanks a lot.
