Hi All

say I have a number 123456 then it should give me the number 1.23 and if asked for more digits then as 1.23456

if number is 112345678 then the answer should be 1,123.45 or 1,123.45678

if number is less than 100000 then it should be 0.99 or 0.99999

can anybody help me?

Hi Krishna

Every time I have to give figures in Laks or crores in a/c statement

Say I have a figure 13,25,236/- then I have to show it in statement as 13.25 lakhs by formatting the cell. As the data is more every time it is not possible to devide it with 1 lakh

if the figure is less than 1 lakh say 25,234/- then the amount after formatting should show 0.25 lakhs so on

I think this will clear the confusion other wise I will post my excel file

I was not in town for past some days

I tried your suggestion, but its a general format and applies to each file, which I was not looking for. I want to format the cells from Custom format
