formatting the text colour in a header or footer?

beginers question, but how does one format the text colour in a header or footer? I cant seem to figure it out!

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.

Sorry, you can't, at least in Excel 2000. The Font dialog is missing the Colour dropdown.
