I have the following formula to extract the name and surname from an email address.

I need to amend the formula so that dot (.) does not appear between the name & surname

Code:
 =PROPER(LEFT(B3,FIND("@",B3)-1))

your assistance in resolving this is most appreciated

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
try substitute the . with space

=SUBSTITUTE(PROPER(LEFT(B3,FIND("@",B3)-1)),"."," ")
