Here is what I'm looking for:

Column A Column B Column C
120,000 50,000 X
100,000 25,000
110,000 25.000 X
330,000 100,000 Grand Total

I would like a formula that searches Column C for an "X" and then subtracts the numbers in Column A and B from their grand totals if the condition is met. So if the formula finds the "X" in column C it would subtract 120,000 and 110,000 from the grand total of 330,000, and Column B would subtract 50,000 and 25,000 from 100,000.

Can anyone help me sort this out?

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
Based on your example is this what you want in Column A and drag to the right.

=SUMIF($C$1:$C$3, "<>" & "X", A1:A3)

Or do you mean
=A4-SUMIF(C1:C3,"X",A1:A3)
