Hi,

For some reason i am having a problem getting the formula to display... i.e. i'll write =4+4 instead of returning 8, i just see =4+4

at first i thought i was in the Formula View function of Excel... but i'm not and i'll enter that value in another random cell and i'll get an output, this just recently happened, does anyone knwo what i can do?

thanks.

Welcome to the Board!

What's the cell formatted as?

Just general formatting
i'll write the formula and it sits there like i'm typing nothing but text,.

Try deleting the cell, and inputting the formula again? Maybe?

From the main menu:
Tools|Options, View tab - make sure Formulas is not checked.

yea,
formulas arent' checked. This problem boggles me, because i'll just find some randomn cell to see if my formulas will work, and they'll be find there...

has anyone experienced a problem similar to this?

I've had this happen at times as well. It seems to occur for me when I've had string data in a cell that's formatted as General. Can't say for sure what caused the problem. I eliminated this by using any formatting other than General.

Sorry I can't give you anything better on this!
