Formula Cell Reference Colour Box GONE!!!

I do alot of formula validation etc. :confused:

One of the functions I used alot was double clicking on a cell with a formula and it would show the reference cells with little coloured boxes around them.... :oops:

Recently I have lost this functionality, I miss it... any idea how to turn it back on???? :eek:

HELP! :(
 

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Try either of these --

Hit the F2 key to go into rangefinder mode
Go to Tools | Options. In the Edit tab, make sure that Edit Directly In Cell is checked

it kinda works, but my excel must be buggy it keeps not doing it on the double click even though its ticked in the options/edit thing
