formula check

I have this formula in

K4 =Y4+AA4+AC4+AE4+AG4+AI4+AK4+AM4

However in AM4 i want to be able to use the if function to return text i.e =IF(D3<4,"N/A,"")

but its just returning error at them minute, its been a long time so the simplest of things in excel are difficult at the minute!

seems to work perfect top man, can you explain the funtion ? What does the 9,6 offer?
