I am working with an Excel spreadsheet which is a data dump from a software package. I am having a problem when I insert a column and copy/paste down a formula for all of the rows in the spreadsheet. Let me give you an example.

Let's say I have columns that contain the days of the week M,T,W,R,F. I would like to CONCATENATE the rows into one cell. If works fine for the first row yet when I copy and paste down the results, the whole column shows what I get in the first row and not what the formula should give me. In the first row I should get MWF and the second row I should get TR yet what is showing is MWF all the way down.

HELP! Any ideas?

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
It might just be on manual calculation. Try pressing F9.

The only other thing I can think of is that the formula is still referring to row 1 - are you using R1C1 formulas, or the A1 etc ones? If there's dollar signs in there that'll be why.

What does the formula in row 2 show?

Cheers,

Anton
