Hi All,
I am endeavouring to check if two figures are the same.
- Closing Balance: $11101.01000000000000000000 Manual Entry
+ Credits: $11163.60000000000000000000 Formula Result
- Debits:
$ 7415.10000000000000000000 Formula Result
= Opening Balance: $ 7352.51000000000000000000 Formula Result

- Opening Balance: $ 7352.36000000000000000000 Manual Entry
= <=>: $ - 0.15000000000054600000 Formula Result

The correct answer should be $ -0.15 exactly.
Can anyone explain why it calculates the answer as shown in the calculation above and how to correct it.
The worksheet is normally formatted as Accounting too two (2) decimal places, I am showing it above too twenty (20) decimal places so the error is visible.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Dave.

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
worksheet is normally formatted as Accounting too two (2) decimal places
Formatting in 2 decimals means that Excel shall display result in two decimals

To get results in 2 decimals, use ROUND function around all formulae to return values in exact 2 decimals.

This way the problem shall be sorted.
