formula for Conditional Formatting of earliest DATE in column.

Hi again,

I need to figure out what to enter into the Conditional Formatting formula to highlight the earliest date in column W. The data starts at row 14, and ends at row 50 and contains either valid dates or nothing at all. There could be more than one of the "earliest date"

Is this possible? Could someone tell me how to do it? Please don't just say to use the MIN function, I've been trying and couldn't figure out how.

Conditional Formatting:
=W14=MIN(W$14:W$50)

Hi

Follow these steps:

Select Conditional Formatting, next in Condition 1, select "Cell Value Is', next select "equal to" in the second dropdown and finally enter this formula in the third box:

=MIN($W$14:$W$50)

Selcect the format you want to highlight the cell before you click on the OK button.

Thank you both. I used Stormseed's approach, because it gave idiot-proof instructions (which I needed) and it WORKED! Thank you so much.

This conditional formatting is pretty cool, I'm going to have to investigate it more thoroughly.

I feel like the idiot, I had no idea you could work Conditional Formatting that way. I always hardcoded in the Cell value as I wrote above. His way is much better.
