Formula for counting dates in a column

Hi Every one,

In a column A i have set of dates for example (03-Aug-2014, 04-Aug-2014, 03-Aug-2014, 05-Aug-2014, 05-Aug-2014 etc...) what i mean in a column i have same set of date en number of time. i next sheet i want to know for 03-Aug-2014 how times it comes i hope you guys understand my question

Kindly help me on the same

Excel Facts

Assume Sheet1 contains your list of dates in column A. In a second sheet, enter 03-Aug-2014 in cell A1. Now enter this formula in B1 of the second sheet :

=COUNTIF(Sheet1!A:A,A1)
