Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a formula that you can use to hide a formula if it isnt needed;

For example, if you had some data on one sheet and you wanted it adding up, but only when another cell has some text entered into it, and whilst there is no text in that cell, the cell where the addition formula is appears blank.

Any help would be appriciated
Regards Si

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
try this

if(a1<>"",b1+b2,"")

a1 is the condition cell, if a1 is not empty then aply the formula.

b1 + b2 is your formula

Cheers,

I had more sucess with the first solution with what i was doing, for some reason the second one wasnt adding up the range even if i changed the b[row number]+b[row number] to a ":" for some reason.

Thanks all the same
