I'm trying to write a formula that will return true if a cell value falls inbetween two numbers and false if it doesn't.

Does Excel not recognize greater than and less than symbols?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Put a space in front of your ">" sign and "<" sign
so your formula comes through correctly to this forum.

There is some problem with these signs.

You need to use AND in this case. Try this:

Code:
 IF(AND(0.35<AB3,AB3<0.46),1.5,AB3)
