Formula Help

I have a worksheet which in column A1:A100 there are various names i am trying to work out a formula that will look up a certain name in that column say Peter then will sum all the values in the corresponding rows in colum F.

I have tried working around a sum index formula I have but am getting it completley wrong, any help appreciated.

How about:

=SUMIF(A:A,"Peter",F:F)
