How could i produce the below but as formula rather than manual input, i would like the formula to always return the month before, so we are in march now so i would like to see February and in April i would like to see March etc

Debit Interest February 2009

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Try this formula

="Debit Interest "&TEXT(TODAY()-DAY(TODAY()),"mmmm yyyy")

Barry i forgot to mention that in column D there are negative and positive amounts, if an amount is positive then it would be Credit Interest February 2009 else Debit Interest February 2009
