Hi,

Is there a way of setting a formula which would look down a column & look for the word "HOL" every 7th & 8th cell down & if it met that requirement it would then count up the quantity.

Regards,

Chris

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
Try putting a helper column next to your list (assuming its in col A) eg..

=IF(OR(MOD(ROW(A1),7)=0,MOD(ROW(A1),8)=0),TRUE,FALSE)

Then use the COUNTIFS function, eg..

=COUNTIFS(A:A,"*hol*",B:B,TRUE)
