Formula in Conditional Formatting

I am trying to do something which I would think would be simple, but cannot get it to work!

I have two columns of data in Columns B and C

Lodge1	20	18
Lodge 2	15	11
Lodge 3	33	30

<tbody>
</tbody>

I want to be able to shade Column C if it is lower than the corresponding value in column B
I have tried IF(C1<B1) but it doesnt seem to work, am I missing something Obvious?<b1) and="" then="" shaded="" etc,="" but="" it="" doesnt="" seem="" to="" work.="" am="" i="" missing="" something="" obvious?<b1)="" as="" formula="" shaded,="" doesn't="" obvious?<="" html=""></b1)>

Try this. Select the cells in Column C and then use Home Tab and Conditional formatting, select Highlight cells less than and then click the first cell in Column B hit F4 3 times and then select your format. that should work.

Cell	Condition		Cell Format	Stop If True
C1	1. / Cell Value less than =B1	Abc

hi,

you could do the same with formula as well...
First place the cursor/select the cell C2 and go to Conditional formatting -->highlight cells --> more rules
Select "Use a formula to determine which cells to format"
Then in the formula line type =C2<B2 and format the color as red and say ok
then copy the paste the format of C2 to other cells in Column C
