Hi, Formula in my excel work book sheet titled 'year to date totals'

=Jan!I5+Feb!I5+Mar!I5+Apr!I5+May!I5+Jun!I5+Jul!I5+Aug!I5+Sep!I5+Oct!I5+Nov!I5+Dec!I5

This formula should give me the currency total for those months on cell c7 of the 'year to date work sheet.

What am I missing?
Thanks, Sam

Do all those sheets exist?
Assuming it doesn't work, in what way?

Hi Fluff,

Yes the workbook has 12 sheets - each sheet is a month of the year... January through December
The totals formula I am using is loaded on sheet thirteen on cell C7

Funny but on my old 2018 work book the formula works just fine and the currency total is correct... but on my latest workbook the exact same formula doesn't

What formula do you suggest?

Thanks, Sam

As long as those sheets are all together with nothing inbetween, maybe
Excel Formula:
=SUM(Jan:Dec!I5)

Solution
Let's say each month has $5.00 in cell I5... so I need to put the total of all cells in cell c7 on sheet thirteen... that total should read $60.00

What is the answer you got?=Jan!I5+Feb!I5+Mar!I5+Apr!I5+May!I5+Jun!I5+Jul!I5+Aug!I5+Sep!I5+Oct!I5+Nov!I5+Dec!I5
0 or #value ? ( if you get # value you have text on some of the answer from month sheets or Formula spill by "" Zero text string )

and =SUM(Jan:Dec!I5) what the answer for this?
(you get the answer but you can not see because of number formatting or conditional formatting ) you can check by formula tap=> Evaluate formula which step is causing trouble

My Opinion! .base On your given information.
