In column A I have a list of names.
Example:
Column A:
In Attendance Smith, Joe (Joined in Skype for Business)
In Attendance Doe, John (Joined in Skype for Business)
In Attendance Smith, Jane (Joined in Skype for Business)

I want to search column A to see if certain individuals show up. For example if Smith, Jane is in column A then I want to place a checkmark in another cell.

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Code:
= IF( COUNTIFS( A:A, "*Joe*", A:A, "*Smith*" ), "Found", "Not Found" )

Thank you. I tried this formula and it is saying Not Found even though it should have found a name. Maybe a SUMPRODUCT?
