I can't get my formulas to work and I just can't see where I'm going wrong... It's a CHOOSE with 2 VLOOKUPS that is not giving an expected return BUT, my 1st problem is D1… why is my return 0 and not TRUE?

Just noticed that the bottom of my window says Circular: D1 but I can't even see why it is a circular?

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
It's difficult to be sure about this, because there's obviously a lot of formulas involved and we can't see all of them.

First off, is C1 actually = to C5 ?
It looks as if C5 must be a numeric 1.
But what's in C1 ?
Is it possible it's a text "1" ?
Or maybe a numeric 1.1 or 0.9 ?
Either of those would cause the mismatch.

The circular reference comment might be a bit misleading. In my experience it may not actually be D1 that contains the circular reference, but it may refer to a cell that contains the circ.ref.

It looks as if C5 doesn't contain a circ.ref, so does C1 contain one ?
Or maybe U5 ?
