I have a formula where file path is like ='D:\Users\ABC\Desktop\[courier.xls]courier'!P8 but when I save file & re-open the same file, formula tend to change as

='C:\Users\XYZ\Downloads\Documents\[courier.xls]courier'!P8

How this possible ? Why this happening ?

Please Help.....

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Is the file path created by a macro or by the default settings ??
If by code, please post the code

Thanks for replying,
File path is created by a default setting but, yes, this file include some macros as well (for some other purpose say filter & printpreview)

Ok, well it sounds like one of your macros is saving the file in the present location.
If you are on a network, the file may not be allowed to be saved to the required location, due to server restrictions, so it's going to the "best" default location !
If that's the case, you would need to talk to the IT people, as no matter what you do, Excel won't be able change it !
