formula problem

HELP..... can anyone tell me why my links dont automatically update within a file. I have two workbooks that have links between them. When I open the document and update one workbook the links on the other workbook don't update. I have set evrything to automatic update but it still doesn't work. My co-worker can open the same document on his computer and it works. Is my computer possessed?

You may have to close both workbooks and then re-open the one that you say is not updating. I now with my linked spreadsheets I have to save and close the workbook that I update and then re-open the workbook that updates after. If I want to update it without saving, closing and reopening I have to goto edit / links and update on the tool bar.

I do have to do that with this file, but I have others that work fine. Plus my co-workers is working fine to. There must be a setting somewhere I missing.
