Formula Question h:mm

Please Help:
In cell C8 is the number 385 which is total minutes per day. I am trying to convert 385 to total hours and minutes in C9 which should come out to
6 hours and 42 minutes. I am using the formula =convert(C8,”mn”,”hr”).
I have cell C9 Custom formatted as h:mm.
The answer in C9 comes up as 0:06

What am I doing wrong? I want to show hours and minutes?

in C9 try
=C8*24
and format it as general or 0.00

So nothing in will come up with the 6.42 then? Using the 385 as minutes?

fhqwgads has given you the way to get 6.42 but I just wanted to remind you that you did not appear to be asking for that. You indicated you wanted hours and minutes... that would be 6 hours and 25 minutes. The 6.42 you now seem to be asking for is not hours and minutes... it is hours and fraction of an hour and rightly written as 6.42 hours.

I would not display it with the colon like that as it gives the false impression that the 42 is minutes.
