I have a simple sheet to figure remaining work hours available for my employees. On one line of the spreadsheet, the last formula is the difference between the "Remainder" value and the "Difference" value, which in this case is 0.00. I have the cell formatted such the value is displayed as a number, with negative numbers in parentheses and in a red font. Why is a result of 0.00 displaying with the negative formatting? When I clear the contents, and redo the formula, the same thing happens.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
It could be that floating point arithmetic is returning a small negative value like -0.000000001

If you round the result to 2 decimal places that should fix it

=ROUND(your formula,2)

While I'm not sure where a tiny negative result like that would come from, the rounding formula fixed my problem so I don't care! Thanks for the help!
