Formula to compress and delete blank rows

I have a sheet with hundreds of rows of data but there are a lot of blank lines so it makes autofilter redundant. I want to write a formula/macro so that in sheet2 it compresses and deletes all the bank rows in sheet1.

Maybe this...assuming the blanks are in Col "A"

Sub Del_Rows()
  On Error Resume Next
  Range("A1", Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp)).SpecialCells(xlBlanks).EntireRow.Delete
End Sub
