# Formula to convert dollar amount to text

I know this question has been asked before...and have tried to use the answers given...but it doen't seem to be working for me.

In cell C10, I have the dollar amount \$12,426.75. In cell D10, I want it to convert this number to (Twelve-thousand four hundred twenty six dollars and 75 cents).

I am using MS Excel 2003 SP2. Is there a simple formula that I can just paste into cell D10, without needing VBA script?

### Excel Facts

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney

##### MrExcel MVP

=NBTEXT(A1,,,"dollar","dollars","cent","cents")

Excel contains over 450 functions, with more added every year. That’s a huge number, so where should you start? Right here with this bundle.
