Does anyone know of formula to add up alternative column value- a1, c1, e2, g2 (instead of using sum(a1+c1+e2+g2)

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Welcome to the board.

Try:

=SUMPRODUCT(--(MOD(COLUMN(A1:G1),2)=1),A1:G1)

Edit: this would sum A1, C1, E1, and G1... there isn't really a pattern for A1, C1, E2, G2...
