Hi All,

I need a formula to get the count of a particular text appearing in the cell as follows. (Problem is, the sentence may not be in order or alike)

In Cell A1 i have the following text: work is done Mouse is replaced
In Cell A2 i have the following text: CPU and Mouse Replaced
In Cell A3 i have the following text: keyboard has replaced now it's working fine.
In Cell A4 i have the following text: CPU has replaced now it's working fine.

Bascially i need a formula so that i can get the total number of items replaced. (Something like contains) - you can consider Key words as "<items>" and "Replaced"

Mouse Replaced: 2 (From A1 & A2) - Need Formula??
CPU Replaced: 2 (From A2 & A4) - Need Formula??
Keyboard Replaced: 1 (A3) - Need Formula??

Thanks!!

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
try something like

=SUMPRODUCT(--ISNUMBER(SEARCH("mouse",A1:A3)),--ISNUMBER(SEARCH("replaced",A1:A3)))

etc etc

extend your range as required and change the literals "mouse" etc to a cell name

note this will only search for 2 word phrases, expand and contract as required
