=(+B115+C115)/E115

this is returning 0.01 when it should be $78.81. What am I missing on this formula. I am adding 2 total hours divided by the Total $ amount?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Zone,

why don't you use AVERAGE() formula? in my opinion would make more sense. I tried your formula and works as long you add the correct values. You don't need the plus sign before B115 and if the average is only 2 numbers you can replace E115 buy 2
=(B115+C115)/2
AVERAGE(B115,C115,...)

ok but E115 is total amount like $73,980 divided into B115 + C115

To get $78.81, you need to divide $73,980 by something, not the other way around.

So, I guess the formula should be =E115/(+B115+C115)

Still returning wrong amount. Cant figure out why.

Example:
Adding B289 AND C289 Divided into $91,26508 E289

Excel 2016 (Windows) 32 bit
B
C
D
E
289
704
172.5
0
$ 91,265.08
Sheet: Trade Templete

What's your expected result?
=E289/(B289+C289) returns $104.12
