Hi all!

There must be a simple way to do this...

In column A, the cells contain strings of text which ends with a dollar sign and an hourly rate: $24.00 for example. There will always be a total of 6 characters. In column B, I would like a formula that simply isolates the dollar figure including the dollar sign from column A.

I appreciate your help on this.

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
i think you only need to use either a right or mid formula. not sure which way you want to go but =right(A1,6) would give you the first 6 digits of A1 starting from the far right.

If it is ever 5 or 7 or any characters other than 6 you can use:

=mid(A1,find("$",A1),len(A1))

Hope that helps.

Thank you schielrn! In this case, no it will always be 6. But I'm sure I'll need your solution sooner or later (I'm working on a bunch of stuff).

I appreciate your help!
