I forgot the formula to pick a certain digit in a number or text in a word.

For example pick 2 in 1239 or G in G5

Thanks for your help.

Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Hi kcchoctaw, welcome to the board.
Can you elaborate a bit on exactly what you're wanting to do?
I think we're all reading your queston and coming up with different questions & interpretations.

If you're simply wanting to see what the second digit in cell A1 is, then perhaps this: =MID(A1,2,1)

If that's not it, then I believe we'll need to know more. (and by 'we', I mean at least me.)

Hope it helps.

Thank you HalfAce. That is what I was looking for.

Thanks also to combatvolcano and Robert Mika.

At my previous job I was known for having good excel skills, but I feel like a novice here. ;)

This site is very useful.
