Hi,

I wonder if someone could help with a small Excel problem I am experiencing.

I have some information in columns A to D . The data in column A is a six digit number (Please note that they are not unique numbers) and If possible I would like a formula to search down the column for the last entry for that number and lift a date from column B. Is this possible?

TIA

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
"I would like a formula to search down the column for the last entry for that number"
For what number? You haven't specified a number.
Do you just want the last entry in column B regardless of what column A contains? (See below).

Does column A contain any blank cells within the list of numbers?

=INDEX(B1:B1000,COUNTA(A1:A1000),1)
will return the value from column B for the last non blank entry in column A

If this is not what you want you need to specify more clearly.
