formula to repeat series of numbers

I need some help with a formula to repeat a series of numbers

for example

if cell a1 = 1, then a2 = 2 a3 =3 up to 8 then cell a9 would= 1 a10 =2 etc

I want the values to change based on the value entered in A1 with 8 being the maximum value. (then start the series again with 1)

I hope that I have explained clearly enough

In A2 copied down.

and copy down.
