Formula with an answer to be a colour

How do I write a formula that would read the value in a certain cell and based on the answer (30 different answers but with only four possible colours) it should return a specific colour (dot or square or just fill a specific cell) to a cell.

I think conditional formatting will do. "Format only cell that contain". Good Luck
