Hello - does anyone have a formula for the following question please:

If I have two cells - let's say A1 & B1 - and I put two letters into A1 - like ME, as initials - how do I get cell B1 to show the name Mr Excel (for example)

I want to enter initials into one cell and the next cell to show a full name

Any help will be appreciated

Many thanks;)

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
Do you have a list of what initials link up to what name?

I can put a list of names to the initials - but it's not required - I just want to put an initial of a person that will not be duplicated into a cell for ease rather than have to type the full name

What I mean is how will Excel know what each initial stands for? How will it know that ME stands for Mr. Excel, and not Melvin Esquire or Martin Everest?

That's a very good point - I was hoping I could use an if formula to somehow do this - but reading your question it seems a list would be required, to identify from - it may just be simpler to write the name in - thanks for your input all the same
