Hello!

my formulas in Excel 2007 stopped working.
I've rebooted my PC, I've run Excel diagnostics - nothing works.
I open a completely new, empty file.
I create column A: a, b,c
I create column B: 1,2,3

Below (starting in A7 and down) I enter: a,a,c,c,b,b.
Then I start writing (in b7): vlookup(a7,
and then I try to highlight my a1:b3 area - but get an error prompt: "The formula you typed contains an error..."
In other words - it doesn't even allow me to continue entering the formula.

Same thing happens with the very basic IF formula -I enter it but it tells me "The formula you typed contains an error...."
Same problem - with INDEX.

However, formulas like =A1=A2 or =b2/b3 work.

Anyone has run into this problem before?
Thank you!
Dimitri

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
I'll reply to myself - because it's pretty cool and I'd like others to know. I figure it out: My Excel formulas stopped working because I switched my Windows Language Support to Russian! Who would have thought that that would confuse poor Excel. I switched language support back to English - and everything works!
