Formulas not updating, source is Data Import from SharePoint

I have a number of sheets that refresh data automatically on file open, but the equations do not update (e.g., show blanks) when there is no data.

Cell L2 has this formula: =IF(H2="","",LEFT(H2,2))

Cell M2 has this formula: =TRIM(J2)

Calculations are set to automatic. Below is my data import properties box:

Any thoughts on why this happens?
