formulas with variables not inserting correctly

Hello All,

I have the below code. its inserting the actual formula but it looks like text but when you clieck on the formula is says the little pop up like if true then statements type of box. Can you please help? I have had nothing but trouble trying to figure this out.

Right(ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Variables").Range("A3").Value, 2) & ".xlsx"",OR(RC[-12]=""" _
& Right(ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Variables").Range("a6").Value, 2) & "/" & Left(ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Variables").Range("a6").Value, 4) & ", RC[-12]=" & Right(ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Variables").Range("a6").Value, 1) & "/" & Left(ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Variables").Range("a6").Value, 4) & ",""X"","" "")"

gives the below

+IF(AND(RC[-7]="CO21armyJAN21.xlsx",OR(RC[-12]="01/2021, RC[-12]=1/2021,"X"," ")

also this filtering doesnt work if someone could help me with that that would be great

"CO21army" & Left(ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Variables").Range("a8").Value, 3) & Right(ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Variables").Range("A3").Value, 2) & ".xlsx"
