Hello,

First time poster, so please do not evicerate me :)

I am currently doing a survey analysis and spend a lot of time looking up what Polling District certain streets are in. I have a table with all the streets in one column and their corresponding polling districts in another, and I would like to get my spreadsheet to automatically add the relevant polling district for the street when the street is entered? Is there any way to do this?

The Polling districts are three letters JMA for example.

Yours,

Apollo

Some sample data would be helpful.

I'm assuming the Addresses to Polling Districts are predetermined somewhere. Like:

Excel 2010
AB
1Key
2AddressPolling District
31234 Main StreetJMA
4312 South RoadLMA
5490 Washington LaneTPE
6798 South Main StreetLTE
72315 North BlvdPLE
8321 Chesterfield RoadMGE

<colgroup><col style="width: 25pxpx"><col><col></colgroup><thead>
</thead><tbody>
</tbody>
Sheet1

Because then you could do something:

=IFERROR(INDEX($B$3:$B$8,MATCH(D3,$A$3:$A$8,0)),"Not In Key")

In the E3 cell.

Excel 2010
DE
1Input
2AddressPolling District
3798 South Main StreetLTE
42315 North BlvdPLE
5490 Washington LaneTPE
6321 Chesterfield RoadMGE
71234 Main StreetJMA
8312 South RoadLMA
9562 Hollywood BlvdNot In Key
10798 South Main StreetLTE
112315 North BlvdPLE
12490 Washington LaneTPE
13798 South Main StreetLTE
14489 South BlvdNot In Key
15321 Chesterfield RoadMGE
161234 Main StreetJMA
