fraction in excel

Hi

I'd like to input fraction into excel spreedsheet, like the format given in the character map. I have tried format cell -> fraction but this is not what I want.

Does anyone has a suggestion?

Are you only looking to enter the ¾ (ascii #190) character ? If so, try:

=CHAR(190)
Or
Alt+0190

If you are trying to format numbers and text in a cell that involves the ¾ character then please repost with specifics.

Dorothy,

I'm using ASAP utilities to launch the character map. Just click on 3/4 on the map, select and copy, then click on a cell and paste

odd fraction like 1/16, 5/32, etc is not available in the char map.

pls help.

You may need to obtain your own custom fonts to achieve what you are looking for. There's lots of font sites on the web, here are a few:

Hi;

i don't know if this helps but, you may try something like this;

assume you've entered 5 1/16 in cell A1. Format the cell as " Text". After selecting the cell A1, enter to the formula bar and select 1/16 with the mouse. Then, from the menu bar; Format | Cells >>Font, check "Superscript"
