I am looking for a simple formula that will tell me how much of the day is still remaining.
Day Start time is in A1
Day End time is in A2
If it is before the start time it should be 1.
If it is after the end time it should be 0
A decimal number in between like .75 if start and end is 4 hours and 1 hour has passed.
I do want it exact including minutes. So would read .74 if only 59 minutes have passed

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Hi,
You could test:
Excel Formula:
=24-ROUND((NOW()-TODAY())*24,0)

if you want the fraction of the working day left try this:
Excel Formula:
=MAX(0,MIN(1,(A2-NOW()+INT(NOW()))/(A2-A1)))
