if i have 1/3 in cells a1, a2,a3, a4
how do i add them u in cell b1 as 1 1/3
cant seem to figure out what format i should be using

if all cells are formatted as fractions then just use

=SUM(a1:a4)

I'm not sure what your question is in your follow-up post, can you elucidate?

if enter a date in C1, I want it to show 1/3 in D1

would it be an if formula?

Do you mean like this? Enter this formula in D1:

=IF(C1>0,1/3,0)
