Hi all,

Trying to stop row height from expanding when I choose a new item from the Filter
My Pivot Table only has a Filter Field - no rows, no values
I'm using it to bluff a search on a slicer by setting up the Pivot and laying the Slicer on top of it with only the filter button showing on the right.
But every time I use the Pivot Filter, the row Height expands from 14.4 to 28.8

I found a trick to set the font size on the column to the right of the Pivot, but I must be doing something wrong, because the row height still auto expands.

How can I prevent auto-expanding row height?

Thanks,
-w

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Your pivot table should have the option "Keep cell format on updating": right-click on the table, select PT Options, check under the Format & Layout tab

Try...

Thanks Anthony,

Preserve cell formatting is ticked, but still the row height auto expands when I click on the filter button and make a new selection.

Thanks

I am confused about your environment; anyway, vba offers a series of PivotTable related events, check if any of them triggers when you "click on the filter button", and use it to restore the format you need.

See the image:
1) expand the worksheet's vba sheet, by doubleclick on its name in the VBAProject frame
2) use the dropdown button and select "Worksheet"
3) use the second dropdown button to select the "Event" to be tested

Thanks Anthony,
Prefer a non-VBA solution
This will be going out to 300+ Users and I do'nt want to tell them how to get Macros to work with newly implemented Macro Security by IT.

I'll have to live with the expanded row heights

Thanks,
